Selling online: from catalog to checkout
Selling online is less about which platform you pick and more about removing friction between “I want this” and “done.” Get that path clean and the technology is the easy part.
Start with the path, not the platform
Walk it as a customer: find a product, trust it, buy it in as few taps as possible. Clear product pages, honest photos, visible trust signals, and a short checkout do more for sales than any platform logo. Most abandoned carts are friction, not price.
WooCommerce vs. the hosted options
Roughly: WooCommerce (on WordPress) is flexible and fully yours — great when you want control and own your data. Hosted platforms are simpler to start but trade away some control and add ongoing fees. Pick by how much you'll customize and who owns the store long-term, not by which is trendiest.
Make AI shopping agents recommend you
Buyers increasingly ask AI to shop for them. Clean product schema, clear specs, and real reviews are how an AI understands your products well enough to put them on the shortlist — the ecommerce side of being found by AI, not just by Google.
