Which marketing metrics actually matter now?

By Snigdha, Strategist at DigiVino · Updated June 27, 2026 · 3 min read

Likes and raw traffic feel good and prove little. In the AI era, focus on the metrics that track whether you're getting found, trusted, and chosen.

What to actually track

AI mention & citation rate (are you in the answers?), qualified organic traffic (right people, not just more people), conversion rate, customer acquisition cost, and lifetime value. These connect marketing to revenue, not applause.

Skip the vanity

Follower counts and undifferentiated pageviews rarely move the business. Tie every metric to a decision or a dollar; if it does neither, stop reporting it. (See tracking AI recommendations.)
