Test, don't guess
Your hunch about the “best” ad is usually wrong, and that's fine — run a few honest variations and let the clicks vote. Small, cheap tests beat one big bet, and the winners often surprise you.
When ads are worth it
Ads amplify what already works; they don't fix what doesn't. If you have a clear offer and a page that converts, ads pour fuel on the fire. If the page leaks, fix that first — otherwise you're paying to send people to a dead end.
